It's nigh impossible to surf the 'net for ukulele videos without quickly bumping into Youtube sensation Julia Nunes. I had to pick one of her videos to be on the blog early on, so why not the one that helped her go 'viral' - her cover of Ben Folds' 'Gone'. Fun, cooky and talented, if you're into ukulele music, Julia's Youtube channel and original songs are definitely worth looking into.

Take On Me - Regee Mix

Shiny and the Spoon do a Regee version of Ah Ha's new wave classic 'Take on Me' on ukulele and mbira - too cool.

Hey Ya - Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra

This is video recording for this song it a little rough, being taken from the audience, but the performance is good and the video is so much fun to watch. There's good use of the band members for different vocal parts. I think if I ever find myself in New Zealand I'm going to have to coordinate my trip with a Wellington International Ukulele Orchestra performance.

American Girl

PUNK44's awesome rendition of Tom Petty's "American Girl". He and a couple of his friends get together and kick out a great cover. Several additional pluses: one it his friend looks a lot like Don Rickles with the eye expressions and all another is there's a blooper reel at the end of the video. Music and comedy - what a good mix.
